She noted the three parties have resolved among others to work together on the bye elections. The opposition coalition Umbrella for Democratic Change ( UDC) convened unity talks with Botswana Patriotic Front and Alliance for Progressives ( AP).īriefing the media on the outcomes of the talks, Dr Magaret Nasha said all went well. The three opposition parties unity talks started on a high note yesterday. He added that the big brother mentality by one of the UDC partners should be dealt with in effort to win AP and BPF support. Moreover, he said the parties resolution to work in joint caucuses is a good step. “It is a crucial moment for all the parties in UDC especially BCP and BNF to avoid unnecessary quarrels.BNF and BCP must iron out pending issues in the UDC,” he said. Machacha said the first cooperation talks resolutions should be executed well, cautioning parties to avoid conflicts. Political analyst Lesole Machacha says the promising start of opposition talks should be maintained to achieve a strong coalition.
